What Orison Temps Does Differently
There are watch repair shops throughout Melaka and the wider region. This page sets out, plainly, why clients tend to return to this one.

Genuine Expertise
Hafiz Nasrullah has worked on mechanical watches for over twenty years. The knowledge required to diagnose a movement issue cannot be acquired from an online course — it comes from time at the bench.
Conservative Approach
We take the minimum intervention necessary. A watch that can be adjusted rather than disassembled, cleaned rather than replaced, is better for the owner — and for the piece itself.
Full Documentation
Macro photography before and after work begins. Written condition reports for preservation clients. A clear paper trail is part of how we work, not an add-on.
Straightforward Pricing
Prices are quoted before work begins. If something changes during the service, you hear about it before costs change. No surprises on collection day.
On-Premises Work Only
Your watch does not leave our workshop to go to another facility. All work is performed at our Jalan Hang Tuah premises, which you are welcome to visit during service.
Collector Preservation
Our museum-grade preservation service is unusual in this region. It addresses the needs of collectors who want careful maintenance and archival storage without unnecessary intervention.
Professional Expertise
Working on a mechanical watch requires an understanding of the movement that goes well beyond following a procedure. Spring tensions, gear trains, escapement geometry — each movement has its own character, and diagnosing faults requires experience with how things go wrong, not just how they should look when new.
- Over twenty years of hands-on movement work
- Experience with mechanical, automatic, and quartz movements
- Competence with vintage and no-longer-manufactured calibres
- Specialist knowledge of date and complication mechanisms
Tools & Technology
Watchmaking instruments are specialised for a reason. The tolerances involved in movement work require equipment that is fit for purpose — ultrasonic cleaning, timing machines, precision screwdrivers, and correct-sized case cushions. General workshop substitutes cause damage that is not always immediately visible.
- Ultrasonic cleaning for case and bracelet components
- Watchmaker's timing machine for movement accuracy verification
- Macro photography for condition documentation
- Archival storage materials for preservation clients
Client Communication
We keep clients informed without overwhelming them. You will hear from us when something unexpected arises, and when your watch is ready. We do not use jargon unless it is useful, and we take time to answer questions properly — in person, by phone, or by email, whichever you prefer.
- Response to all enquiries within one working day
- Prior notification before any cost changes
- Written service summary provided on collection
- Care guidance provided after all services
Value & Pricing
Our prices reflect the time and materials involved in the work. Band sizing is a short, precise task priced accordingly. Date mechanism repair is more involved and takes longer. Preservation is our most comprehensive service. There are no hidden charges, and no work is begun until a price has been agreed.
- Fixed pricing agreed before work begins
- No additional charges without prior client agreement
- Free assessment if repair is declined after diagnosis
- MYR pricing — no foreign currency conversion
Results & Outcomes
The measure of a repair is not how quickly it was completed, but how the watch performs afterwards and how long that performance holds. We take the time that the work requires, and we follow up if anything is not as it should be after collection.
- Movement accuracy verified before return
- Date function tested across multiple midnight transitions
- Preservation pieces returned with full condition documentation
- Follow-up available if concerns arise after collection
Orison Temps vs Typical Providers
A straightforward look at what distinguishes careful specialist work from high-volume general repair.
What You Will Not Find Elsewhere
Controlled-Environment Return Pouch
Preservation clients receive their watch in a sealed, humidity-controlled pouch alongside a detailed condition report and care card. This is not common practice in Malaysian watch repair.
Macro Photography Record
Every preservation intake includes a full photographic survey of case, dial, hands, crown, and caseback — at macro resolution. You have a permanent record of condition at the time of service.
Non-Disassembly Default
Our preservation service inspects the movement without disassembly unless a fault is found. Many providers will open everything regardless. We consider whether opening is necessary before doing so.
Vintage Piece Acceptance
We do not turn away older or unusual movements because parts are unavailable or the calibre is unfamiliar. Vintage work is discussed honestly — including what is feasible and what is not.
